About this role

We are looking for motivated and experienced Ice Rink Managers to take joint responsibility for the safe, efficient and customer-focused operation of the Ice Rink at Nottingham Winter Wonderland.

Working collaboratively as part of a small management team, you will oversee all aspects of the rink operation, from staff supervision and ice safety to customer service and the overall day-to-day running of the attraction.

The event runs from 12 November 2026 until 31 December 2026. Applicants must be available throughout this period and may also be required to assist with preparations prior to the event opening and with post-event operations following its closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with fellow Ice Rink Managers to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the rink.
  • Lead, supervise and support rink teams, including ice marshals, skate hire and customer service staff.
  • Maintain excellent standards of health & safety, safeguarding and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure ice quality, skate hire equipment and rink facilities are maintained to a high standard.
  • Support the management of rotas, daily staffing levels and team briefings to ensure full operational coverage.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, handling queries, complaints and incidents effectively.
  • Act as Duty Manager on shift, with responsibility for staff, skaters and public safety.
  • Liaise with event organisers, security, first aid teams and other site departments to coordinate safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and operational issues are correctly reported and documented.
  • Monitor operational performance and provide feedback to help improve efficiency and the customer experience.
  • Support the wider management team where required throughout the event.

  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements and risk management. Additional training will be provided where required.
  • Comfortable managing busy periods with large numbers of visitors and seasonal staff.
  • Flexible availability throughout the event period, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Must be available to work throughout the Christmas period. The event is closed on Christmas Day, and management shifts will be shared fairly to allow managers two days off over the Christmas period.
  • Availability to assist prior to and following the event where required.
