About this role
Company Overview
Eurotank Environmental is a dedicated provider within the Eurotank Service Group, specializing in tank-related services across the nation. We serve the retail and commercial fueling sectors, ensuring fuel systems operate safely and efficiently through expert tank inspection, lining, decommissioning, and quality management.
Job Purpose
Eurotank Environmental Ltd is seeking a Stage 1B Vapour Recovery Tester to join the division. The successful candidate will travel to fuel sites across the UK, testing vapour recovery systems to confirm they meet UK regulatory and company standards. The role involves working from height using a cherry picker (mobile elevating work platform), so a head for heights and a genuinely mobile, flexible approach to a Monday-to-Friday travelling schedule are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Stage 1B vapour recovery testing on petrol station and fuel storage sites across the UK.
- Operate a cherry picker (MEWP) safely and confidently to access elevated tank, vent and pipework components.
- Ensure all testing is carried out in accordance with UK regulatory requirements and Eurotank's company standards and procedures.
- Travel to sites across the UK Monday to Friday, staying away from home overnight as the schedule requires.
- Accurately record test results and complete all associated paperwork and reporting in full.
- Look after the assigned company vehicle and testing equipment, keeping both in good, safe working order.
- Follow all HSSE (health, safety, security and environmental) policies and procedures at all times, including safe working at height.
- Liaise professionally with site staff, clients and the EE Operations Manager.
Person Specification
Essential
- Full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years, ideally clean.
- Comfortable and confident working at height — operating a cherry picker is a core, regular part of this role.
- Willing and able to travel around the UK Monday to Friday, including staying away from home overnight.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Good communication skills and a professional, customer-facing manner when working on client sites.
- Able to work independently, manage own time, and stay organised while on the road.
Desirable
- Previous experience in the petroleum, fuel, or environmental services industry.
- Previous experience of working at height or operating a MEWP/cherry picker (full training will be provided).
- Familiarity with ATEX-rated equipment or petrol station/forecourt infrastructure.
Training
No prior vapour recovery testing or MEWP/cherry picker certification is required — full training will be provided to the successful candidate. A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to travel and work at height are what matter most.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- Company van.
- Company pension scheme.
- 20 days holiday, increasing by 1 additional day per year of service.
- Full training provided.
Pay: From £39,700.00 per year
Work Location: In person
