About this role

Job Title: Assistant Facilities Manager

Contract: 12 months fixed contract

Type of Employment: Part Time

Hours: 25 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £ 17,243 per annum

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday

We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager based in Solihull to support the Facilities Manager in delivering the day-to-day operation for a portfolio of client properties on the E.ON account. The AFM will also support the wider team in the delivery of all contractual and Health & Safety requirements including updating risk assessments and employee training.

You will have experience of facilities management service delivery, be able to resolve solutions quickly and effectively, have proficient I.T skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and knowledge of CAFM tools, be a team player and have the required experience and skills to enable a smooth running of the contract.

The role is 25 hours a week, this can be split working Mon-Fri for 5 hours a day. The working hours will be set by business needs and will require flexibility.

Main Duties

As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you will support the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring the needs of the client and business are met while promoting the Mitie and E.ON values. You will assist with employee recruitment, training, performance management, and development, ensuring all team members are competent in their roles. Responsibilities include supporting operational planning, completing monthly cleaning audits, managing staffing levels, annual leave, and time and attendance, promoting health and safety, attending site meetings, and helping to control labour, agency, and consumable costs within budget while maintaining effective shift patterns and workplace standards.

The ideal candidate must have great communication skills as this is a corporate environment where you will engage with many different stakeholders.

Experience gained within a similar role.

  • IOSH (NEBOSH -Desirable)
  • Knowledge of service delivery in an FM environment highly desirable.
  • Experience of working in a service environment driven by customer SLAs, performance measurement and personal work targets essentials.
  • IT literate in MS Office (particularly Excel), and service desk systems essential.
  • FM Industry experience (coordinator, assistant etc).
