Terms & Conditions
Last updated 13 July 2026
After Duty Jobs is a recruitment agency helping police, ambulance, fire and armed-forces leavers move into civilian careers, in the UK and Australia. These terms apply whenever you browse this site, register your CV, or apply for a role listed here. By using the site you accept them; if you go on to register or apply, you also accept the specific consent wording shown at that point.
1. Who we are
After Duty Jobs ("we", "us") operates this site and acts as the recruitment agency for every registration made through it — there is no separate agency your details get passed to. Questions about these terms: email hello@afterdutyjobs.com. Questions about your data specifically go to hello@afterdutyjobs.com — see our Privacy policy.
2. The service
- Free for candidates, always. We never charge you at any stage, for registering, applying, being placed, or anything else. We are paid a placement fee by the employer when we successfully place a candidate with them.
- A talent pool, not a job board. The roles shown on this site are a way in — the point of the site is to get your CV in front of a consultant who understands what your service background is worth in civilian terms, and to match you against roles beyond just the one you applied for.
- Job listings.Listings are short summaries of publicly advertised roles. We don't guarantee that any listing is accurate, still open, or that applying will lead to a call, an interview, or an offer. A listing on this site is not itself a job offer.
- Salary and career guidance. Salary figures, skills-translation guidance and career content on this site are editorial estimates for orientation only, not a guarantee of what you personally would be offered, and not financial, legal or careers advice specific to your circumstances.
3. Registering and applying
- You must be honest and accurate in what you tell us and what your CV says — we and any employer we introduce you to rely on it.
- You must have the right to work in the country you're applying to work in (UK or Australia) or be honest with us about your current status if you don't.
- Registering or applying places your CV and contact details with our consultants, who will get in touch about the role you applied for and other roles that fit your background. We don't pass your details to an employer without speaking to you first.
- What we collect, how long we keep it (currently 24 months from our last contact with you), and your rights over it are set out in full in our Privacy policy, not repeated here.
- You can withdraw at any time — tell us and we'll stop contacting you and delete your details on the same terms as any other erasure request.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to, in connection with this site:
- submit false information, or apply on behalf of someone else without their consent;
- scrape, systematically extract, or republish the job listings, guides, or other content on this site;
- attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its underlying systems; or
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
We can suspend or refuse service to anyone who breaches these terms.
5. Job listings and third parties
Some listings originate from third-party job feeds and publicly advertised sources. We don't control those employers or the accuracy of the original advert, and a listing appearing here isn't an endorsement of the employer by us. Once a consultant introduces you to an employer, any offer, interview process, or employment terms are a matter between you and that employer — we're not a party to it.
6. Intellectual property
The site's design, skills-translation taxonomy, guides, and editorial content are owned by After Duty Jobs or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Your CV and the information you submit remain yours; registering gives us permission to use them for the purpose described in our Privacy policy — helping you find a role — and no wider purpose.
7. Liability
We take reasonable care to keep listings current and our matching accurate, but we make no guarantee that any role remains available, that our estimate of your fit or civilian salary equivalent is precise, or that registering will lead to an interview, offer, or placement. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from your reliance on listings, salary estimates, or career content on this site, or from the actions of employers we introduce you to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for our own negligence causing death or personal injury, or for fraud.
8. Complaints
If something about the service falls short, tell us at hello@afterdutyjobs.com and we'll look into it. If your complaint is about how we've handled your personal data specifically, see the dedicated complaints process — including the regulators you can escalate to — in our Privacy policy.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. If you've registered, the version you agreed to at the time is recorded against your registration; continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
10. Governing law
If you're using the UK site or based in the UK, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the English and Welsh courts have jurisdiction. If you're using the Australian site or based in Australia, these terms are governed by the law of the relevant Australian state or territory, and nothing here limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
