The Role

The Cloud Security Engineer supports the protection of information systems, data and technology services with this role primarily supporting our Operational Technology (OT). This involves security monitoring, incident response, risk management and the continual improvement of security controls. Working across complex technology environments, the role plays a critical part in maintaining a secure, resilient and compliant environment. This role will be part of a large cyber uplift programme and will be involved in creating the controls and monitoring environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts and incidents, escalating and coordinating remediation activities where required.
  • Be hands on in creating Security Controls and Monitoring processes with our OT environment
  • Support cyber incident response activities, including assessment, containment, recovery, investigation and reporting.
  • Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, assessment, remediation tracking and security control reviews.
  • Produce security metrics, dashboards and reporting to support operational oversight and risk-informed decision making.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen security controls, reduce operational risk and improve cyber resilience.
  • Partner with internal technology teams, managed service providers and external vendors to resolve security issues and maintain security compliance.

Your Background And Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in Information Security, IT Operations or a related discipline, with exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security or a related field, along with relevant industry certifications.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Azure cloud environments, security platforms and information security principles.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, standards and controls, including risk management frameworks (ie: IEC62443).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with users, vendors and technology teams.
