About this role

What G4S can offer you

  • Part time - your average, ordinary minimum hours will be no less than 30 hours per week.
  • Training rate of $37.90 p/h for your first 6 months, increasing to $39.88 p/h after 6 months
  • Mon-Fri work only, operating hours are 7:30 am-6:00 pm (rotating roster)
  • Uncapped $500 bonuses for referring a friend who joins G4S

We're looking for Court Security and Custody Officers to join the team at the District Court Building, reporting to our Operations Manager (Shane) and working in a team with our 120 Officers. In the role, you'll have a great deal of variety - you may be ensuring courtroom safety in a trial one day and then escorting persons in custody the next.

Our paid training course will commence in Early November and will see you join a group of recruits on our 6-week training program. We are eager to hear from all candidates seeking a new role in the Court & Custody environment in Perth.

No prior custodial work experience is required for this position, and we welcome all applications, particularly those from those with a customer service, retail or hospitality background.

In this role, you will

  • Assist with the management and movement of people in custody throughout the facility
  • Ensure the welfare of people in court and custody
  • Manage and escort people through the facility, in court and custody, and provide custody services during court hearings
  • Control room monitoring
  • Front-of-house reception and customer service
  • Manage the screening process for the court
  • Conduct patrols in and around the facility

What we're looking for

  • Full availability to work a rotating roster between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with people from different backgrounds
  • Available to commence a 6-week training course commencing in Mid June 2026
