Cyber Security Analyst

Gymshark · Birmingham, West Midlands

Type
Full-time
Posted

Overview

Your incident command experience and ability to coordinate stakeholders under pressure translate to leading security incidents, and your disciplined handling of sensitive information aligns with the confidentiality requirements. However, the essential criteria demand hands-on SOC experience with SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management platforms, which typical policing roles don't provide, so entry would require significant retraining or a specialised cybercrime background.

About this role

OVERVIEW

At Gymshark, we're building more than a brand, we're building a secure, resilient, and innovative digital future. As our Cyber Security Operations Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in protecting our business, our people, and our global community from evolving cyber threats. Working within our Tech team, you'll be at the heart of security operations, responding to incidents, driving continuous improvement, and helping shape the next chapter of Gymshark's cyber security capability.

If you're passionate about cyber defence, thrive in fast-paced environments, and love solving complex problems, we'd love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Investigating, managing, and responding to cyber security events and incidents to protect Gymshark's systems, data, and brand.
  • Partnering closely with our Security Operations Centre (SOC) and wider technology teams to strengthen monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
  • Leading and evolving our vulnerability management programme, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, prioritised, and remediated effectively.
  • Conducting proactive threat intelligence and open-source threat analysis to identify emerging risks relevant to the business.
  • Supporting the development of security detections, playbooks, and operational processes that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Providing actionable threat and incident insights, translating technical findings into meaningful business impact and recommendations.
  • Leading security incidents through to resolution when required, coordinating stakeholders and driving timely outcomes.
  • Participating in the cyber security on-call rota, supporting critical incidents outside of normal business hours when needed.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of Gymshark's cyber security operations as we scale and mature our security capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years experience working within a Cyber Security team, with a strong focus on incident detection
  • Hands-on experience operating within a Security Operations environment and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles across web, network, and endpoint technologies.
  • Working knowledge of security technologies including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, firewalls, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical security risks into clear business-focused recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership, solve problems, and drive tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Cyber Security or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as ISC2, Microsoft, BCS, or CompTIA.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerability management tooling and programmes.
  • Experience contributing to cyber security improvements within a growing or complex business environment.
