Cyber Security Consultant – Incident and Vulnerability Management, UK
- Up to £570 per day, dependent on experience
- 3-month contract (Inside IR35)
- Hybrid working, 1 to 2 days onsite in Preston, London or Birmingham
- Must hold active SC clearance
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Our client is a major organisation operating within a highly regulated Defence environment. They are currently transitioning towards a multi-supplier service model and require an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to provide governance and coordination across security incident and vulnerability management.

THE CYBER SECURITY CONSULTANT ROLE
As Cyber Security Consultant, you will support the alignment and governance of high-severity security incident and vulnerability management processes across multiple suppliers.
You will coordinate suppliers, establish consistent approaches to incident severity, vulnerability prioritisation and risk acceptance, and ensure security outputs are evidence-driven, audit-ready and aligned with client policy.
This is primarily a governance and coordination role rather than a hands-on SOC, incident response or vulnerability remediation position.
CYBER SECURITY CONSULTANT ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Security incident management, vulnerability management or cyber governance experience
- Strong understanding of incident and vulnerability management lifecycles
- Experience working within multi-supplier or SIAM environments
- Ability to interpret SOC and vulnerability management outputs
- Experience with security governance, risk, assurance and reporting
- Familiarity with vulnerability prioritisation approaches such as CVSS, KEV or EPSS
Experience within Defence, NIST CSF, NCSC guidance, ISMS, audit or ITIL environments would be advantageous.
