The Opportunity

The Cyber Security Operations Analyst will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's computer networks and systems. You will be responsible for monitoring security events, analysing data, identifying potential threats, and responding to security incidents in a timely manner. In addition, this role will work across security operations to document, standardise and continuously improve operational processes, ensuring they align with industry best practices and security frameworks, identifying opportunities to simplify manual activities, improve consistency and establish the foundations for automation and orchestration where appropriate.

This role requires a strong technical background in cybersecurity, excellent analytical ,process analysis and documentation skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment You will work in a global team and support on BAU activities

The is a full time position on an initial 12 month fixed term basis. The role will be based in Glasgow with hybrid working.

Main responsibilities include

  • Analyse existing operational processes and identify inefficiencies, duplication and risk
  • Design and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop high-quality operational documentation.
  • Monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Investigate and triage security events based on severity and impact.

About you

The successful candidate will have

  • Strong understanding and experience of cyber security operations and security best practices, with knowledge of recognised frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls or ITIL.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, intrusion detection/prevention systems and SIEM tools.
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, DLP and endpoint protection. Practical understanding of the application of various security tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, practical documentation and engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
