Role Description The Electronic Security Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Parramatta, NSW. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining electronic security systems, including alarm systems, access control, CCTV, and related networked devices. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and documenting all work performed. The technician will collaborate with clients and internal teams to assess security needs, ensure systems meet operational and safety standards, and respond to service requests and incidents. The role also involves adhering to cybersecurity and occupational health and safety practices while working in diverse environments.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, including strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and network security principles relevant to electronic security systems.
  • Experience with alarm systems and other electronic security technologies (e.g., CCTV, access control).
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety requirements when working on-site and with electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Relevant trade qualification or certification in electronics, IT, security systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to client sites as required.
