Overview

Your operational management and risk assessment skills from policing translate directly to overseeing building safety and compliance.

About this role

At Centrick, we’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety and performance of our residential and commercial developments.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities or maintenance professional to take ownership of building standards, contractor performance and compliance across our Build to Rent (BTR) and Asset Management portfolios.

Working closely with Asset Managers, Property Managers and site-based teams, you’ll ensure our developments are maintained to the highest standards, operate within agreed budgets and deliver excellent value for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but the tasks below offer a glimpse of what to expect. If you don’t meet every point but believe you have the skills to succeed, we encourage you to apply.

  • Carry out site inspections, identify risks and ensure buildings are maintained to a high standard.
  • Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Lead tendering and procurement processes, negotiating contracts and securing value for money.
  • Ensure statutory compliance, accurate records and timely completion of remedial actions.
  • Support long-term maintenance planning, capital expenditure projects and building lifecycle strategies.
  • Contribute to service charge budgets, monitor expenditure and manage costs against agreed client budgets.
  • Monitor service levels and KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to coordinate maintenance, manage risks and maintain service standards.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding of developments, ensuring smooth operational and compliance handovers.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Experience in facilities management, building maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building services, maintenance processes and statutory compliance.
  • Experience managing contractors, procurement and tendering processes.
  • Good financial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple sites, competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
