About this role
We're looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Sheffield Schools team based in Sheffield.
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of day-to-day operational facilities management services across school sites in Sheffield. You'll play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery, working closely with school stakeholders and leading a dedicated team to maintain excellent standards across all facilities.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Facilities Manager, you'll be working within the Sheffield Schools team, supporting them in delivering high-quality facilities management services. Your day to day will include:
- Managing day-to-day FM operations across assigned school sites, ensuring all services meet contractual requirements
- Leading and mentoring soft services teams, including supervisors, operatives and sub-contractors
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits and risk assessments
- Building strong relationships with school staff and acting as the primary on-site point of contact
- Overseeing planned preventative maintenance schedules and managing reactive works to ensure timely resolution

- You have strong operational facilities management experience, ideally in schools or similar environments
- You possess a good understanding of compliance and statutory requirements
- You have a hands-on, proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills
- You demonstrate strong communication and customer service abilities
- You have experience managing contractors and can oversee their performance effectively
