Contract: Permanent | 52 weeks

We're looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of a large and busy specialist education site, leading facilities operations that have a direct impact on the day-to-day experience of students and staff.

This is far more than a maintenance role. You'll oversee estates, compliance, health and safety, catering, housekeeping, contractors, projects and site development, ensuring everything runs smoothly while continually improving the environment around you.

You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, lead a dedicated team, manage budgets and drive projects from planning through to completion. Whether you're improving site infrastructure, managing contractors, responding to operational challenges or planning future developments, you'll play a key role in shaping a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment.

If you enjoy leading people, solving problems, managing projects and seeing tangible results from your work, this is an opportunity to make a real difference every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading all site, estates and facilities operations across the school.
  • Managing facilities teams, contractors and service providers to deliver high standards across the site.
  • Overseeing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
  • Managing facilities budgets, contracts and improvement projects to ensure value for money.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety and statutory regulations.
  • Conducting site inspections and identifying opportunities to improve buildings and facilities.
  • Supporting long-term estate development projects and future site improvements.
  • Creating a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

What We're Looking For

  • Has experience managing facilities, estates, property or site operations.
  • Has strong knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and statutory requirements.
  • Can manage contractors, budgets, maintenance programmes and improvement projects.
  • Is a proven people leader who can motivate teams and build positive working relationships.
  • Takes a practical, hands-on and solution-focused approach.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.
