Overview

About this role

Flyer Distribution Operations Manager

Melbourne Metro | Home & Field Based

$5,500–$7,000 per month + GST where applicable

Home Crew AU Pty Ltd is looking for a highly capable Flyer Distribution Operations Manager to take ownership of our growing Melbourne-wide flyer distribution operation.

This is not a basic rostering or supervision role. We need someone who can recruit, build, manage and control a reliable field workforce, while ensuring distribution is completed on time and to a consistently high standard.

Our distribution volume will range from approximately 20,000 flyers per week to 100,000+ as the operation grows.

Initially, the focus will be Melbourne’s South-East and North-East, with expansion into the Western suburbs and broader Melbourne Metro over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously recruit and build a strong pool of flyer distributors.
  • Advertise across SEEK, Indeed, Gumtree, Facebook groups, university/student channels and other effective recruitment sources.
  • Develop strong recruitment channels with Melbourne universities and students.
  • Screen, interview, onboard and manage distributors.
  • Plan weekly distribution in accordance with the Company’s overall distribution strategy.
  • Allocate territories, workloads and flyer quantities.
  • Maintain sufficient workforce capacity and backup availability.
  • Personally conduct field inspections and quality-control checks.
  • Review GPS/tracking evidence and investigate poor or incomplete distribution.
  • Adjust staffing levels and distribution capacity as business needs change.
  • Manage recruitment and operational costs within agreed budgets.
  • Coordinate flyer delivery and other operational logistics.
  • Maintain clear records and provide concise weekly reporting to the Director.

What We Need

We are looking for someone with strong

  • Recruitment and candidate-sourcing skills.
  • People management and communication skills.
  • Planning, scheduling and organisational ability.
  • Problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Quality-control and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Initiative, accountability and independent decision-making.
  • Computer, spreadsheet and reporting skills.

You must have a reliable vehicle and current driver’s licence, as regular travel throughout Melbourne will be required for inspections and operational support.

Previous experience in flyer distribution is advantageous but not essential.

Relevant experience may come from recruitment, labour hire, logistics, merchandising, promotional staffing, cleaning, security, courier operations, event staffing or another environment involving casual or field-based teams.

What Success Looks Like

The successful person will progressively take full ownership of this function so the Director does not need to manage day-to-day recruitment, staffing, distribution or quality-control issues.

You will be expected to maintain sufficient workforce capacity, respond quickly when circumstances change, continuously improve recruitment and distribution processes, and scale the operation as volumes and areas expand.

We are looking for someone who takes genuine ownership of the operation and can run it with a high degree of independence.

Remuneration & Growth

Initial contractor remuneration

$5,500–$7,000 per month + GST where applicable, depending on experience and capability.

There is strong potential for increased remuneration and responsibility based on performance, distribution growth and successful expansion of the operation.

Approved business travel expenses can be reimbursed separately in accordance with Company policy.

To Apply

Please submit your CV together with a brief cover letter outlining:

  • Your experience recruiting and managing casual, contractor or field-based teams.
  • The approximate size of the largest workforce you have personally managed or helped build.
  • The recruitment channels and methods you have successfully used to attract staff at scale.
  • Any relevant experience with field operations, scheduling, quality control or geographically dispersed teams.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.

Pay: $66,000.00 – $84,000.00 per year
