Join Our Team as a Specialist Security Operations Engineer

Are you ready to take your cyber security expertise to the next level?*Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is on the lookout for an *Incident Response Specialist to join their dynamic cyber security team.

Role: Incident Response Specialist

Duration: 6 months (ext. options)

Rate: £700 pd (umbrella)

What You'll Do

As a pivotal member of the team, you'll collaborate closely with Agile DevSecOps initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and visibility for the Security Operations Centre. You'll foster a DevSecOps mindset, promoting shared responsibility among Security Operations teams. Your contributions will be vital in defending against an ever-evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities Include

Incident Response

  • Triage and manage high-priority incidents while ensuring appropriate responses are executed.
  • Produce clear incident summaries quickly and adapt your communication style for various audiences.
  • Provide tactical support to colleagues during incidents and manage communications with senior leaders.

Capability Development

  • Design and maintain incident response plans and processes.
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues to enhance their professional growth.
  • Identify gaps in current practises and drive improvements across the organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain productive relationships across various business departments.
  • Advise senior leadership on risk and incident response improvements, ensuring a collaborative approach.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Previous experience in Incident Response or related fields, or a relevant degree.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience in a technical cyber discipline.
  • Proven track record in shaping capability and strategy.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.

Qualifications

  • Must hold SC Clearance.
  • A degree-level qualification in Security Operations or Incident Response is essential.
  • Desirable certifications include CISSP, CCIM, GEIR, or Crest Certified Incident Manager.
