We are seeking a commercially focused *Legal Counsel & Compliance Program Coordinator*to join our Legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role will provide practical legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters while coordinating key compliance, ethics and governance programs across the business.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer looking to broaden their experience across commercial law, compliance, governance and risk in a large-scale, fast-paced organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to

  • Work on a broad mix of commercial legal, compliance and governance matters across a large and complex national business.
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation and provide advice that directly influences business outcomes and risk management.
  • Gain exposure to key compliance programs including Modern Slavery, Privacy, FIRB, Ethics & Compliance and SEDEX.
  • Develop a highly sought-after skill set spanning commercial law, compliance, governance and risk.

About You

You're a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys being close to the action, building strong relationships and finding practical solutions to complex challenges.

You will bring

  • A current unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years' PQE, ideally gained through within a firm or commercial legal environment.
  • Strong commercial contracting, advisory and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and partner with people at all levels of the business.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and sound commercial judgement.
  • A proactive, organised and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver results.
  • A genuine interest in compliance, governance and continuous improvement.
