About this role

This is an exciting permanent SOC Manager role within a dynamic and fast-paced MSP environment within QLD Government. You will lead CITEC’s SOC and vulnerability management functions, including managed SOC services for external clients

As a Manager, Security Operations Centre (SOC), You Will

  • Lead and manage CITEC's Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions across internal and managed client environments.
  • Oversee the delivery of security monitoring, threat detection, alert triage, incident investigation and response activities.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for significant or complex cyber security incidents, providing direction, coordination and expert advice.
  • Lead and mature CITEC's vulnerability management capability, including vulnerability identification, prioritisation, reporting and remediation coordination.
  • Drive continuous improvement of SOC operations through uplift of processes, playbooks, workflows, tooling, automation and reporting (including effective metrics and KPIs).
  • Lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of managed SOC services to external clients, ensuring services meet business needs and agreed service levels.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to build a capable, collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, clients, vendors and external partners to support service delivery and positive outcomes.
  • Contribute as a member of the Information Security Services (ISS) management team to service planning, strategic direction, roadmap initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure SOC and vulnerability management practices align with relevant policies, standards, procedures and compliance obligations.
  • Undertake other duties as required, consistent with the responsibilities of the role.
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices, and provide thought leadership to enhance CITEC's security posture.
