Reports To

Factory Manager / Operations Director

Hours of Work

ITC is recruiting two experienced Night Security Officers to provide security and safety cover for its manufacturing facility.

Position 1

  • Monday to Thursday
  • 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 48 hours per week

Position 2

  • Friday to Sunday
  • 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 36 hours per week

Additional hours may be available to cover holidays and absences.

Role Overview

The Night Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety, security and integrity of the factory premises, employees, visitors, vehicles and equipment during out-of-hours operations.

The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for any security, safety or emergency issues arising during their shift and will ensure that all security procedures are followed at all times.

Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity & Site Protection

  • Control access to the factory site and verify authorised personnel.
  • Monitor entry and exit points.
  • Conduct regular patrols of factory buildings, warehouse areas, yards and perimeter fencing.
  • Prevent unauthorised access, theft, vandalism and criminal activity.
  • Lock and unlock designated areas in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor security cameras, alarms and access control systems.

Health & Safety

  • Carry out routine health and safety inspections during the shift.
  • Report hazards, incidents and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure emergency exits and fire routes remain clear.
  • Assist during emergency situations including fire alarms, evacuations and security incidents.
  • Maintain accurate incident and occurrence records.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Complete security logs and handover reports.
  • Keep records of visitors, contractors and deliveries.
  • Report suspicious activity immediately to management and emergency services where required.
  • Escalate operational issues affecting security or safety.

Site Operations Support

  • Receive and monitor overnight deliveries where required.
  • Check that factory buildings, offices and storage areas remain secure.
  • Conduct welfare checks on any employees working out of normal hours.
  • Support management with general site security duties.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous security experience within a factory, warehouse, industrial or commercial environment.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy and professional manner.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic IT skills for incident reporting and CCTV monitoring.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • First Aid qualification (optional).
  • Fire Marshal training (optional).
  • Experience using CCTV and access control systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
