About this role

DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to champion extraordinary customer service, Amazon style?

Are you up for crafting solutions and solving tomorrow’s problems today?

Then we have an opportunity just for you!

We’re seeking an Operations Manager to join our dynamic Fulfillment Center. Our Fulfillment Centers are at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing Operations network: they’re where we manage our dynamic inventory. They’re also where we developed our industry-leading workflows. Our teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today.

In these facilities we’re building the future of customer service, as we work towards becoming Earth’s most customer-centric company. This is your chance to make history with us.

The Operations Manager has complete responsibility for Fulfillment Center operations or a functional process responsibility on a specified shift or across multiple shifts including night shifts.

Key job responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers (2-4 front-line supervisors depending on shift and activity levels) and 100-300 hourly associates for inbound operations within the Fulfillment Center.

Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the shift.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.

Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.

Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning

Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network. This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an deadline-driven environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading large contingent workforce programs
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
  • Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience hiring candidates, mentoring and developing employees in their careers
