Overview

Your shift management and multi-tasking in high-pressure environments directly transfer to hotel operations oversight.

About this role

Do you thrive when everything is running like clockwork — and stay calm when it isn't?

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help lead the day-to-day running of one of Bristol's most well-located hotels, working closely with the General Manager to deliver consistently high standards across every department.

The Role

You'll oversee the hotel's operational departments, supporting department heads and their teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience on every shift. A visible, hands-on leader, you'll be as comfortable on the floor as you are reviewing performance data — and you'll bring the commercial awareness to back up your operational instincts.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Overseeing daily hotel operations across rooms, food and beverage, and front of house
  • Supporting, coaching and developing department heads and their teams
  • Monitoring and driving guest satisfaction scores, responding quickly to feedback
  • Working with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting and cost control
  • Ensuring compliance across health and safety, licensing and brand standards
  • Deputising for the General Manager in their absence
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and driving continuous improvement across departments

About You

You'll already have solid hotel operations experience, ideally at a supervisory or management level within a branded property. You'll be a natural problem-solver, a confident communicator, and someone who leads by example on the floor.

About The Hotel

Hilton Garden Inn Bristol City Centre is a 171-bedroom, four-star hotel next to historic Temple Gardens, just a three-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station — with direct trains to London, Cardiff, Bath and the West Country. The hotel features Recess restaurant and bar with alfresco terrace, a 24-hour fitness centre, EV charging, and flexible meeting space. Cabot Circus, the Harbourside and the Bristol Hippodrome are all less than a mile away.
