BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Personnel Security (PERSEC) Manager for a challenging and exciting opportunity to support Space and Missions Systems (SMS).

The PERSEC Manager acts as a technical leader and trusted advisor within the Security Organization. This individual demonstrates ownership of the program, proactively identifies risk before it becomes impact, and drives continuous improvement of personnel security processes. Responsibilities will include strategic oversight and day-to-day execution of the personnel security program in support of the Government and company’s overall national security mission. This role ensures full compliance with National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DoD Manuals 5205 series to include JSIG, DoD manuals, along with all other applicable federal, state, and local security operations, policies, and procedures. The PERSEC Manager works directly for the security operations team and will actively partner with the customer and Program Management to ensure cleared personnel are processed efficiently and with a high degree of integrity.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Personnel security management support for classified, Sensitive Compartmented information (SCI), and special access programs (SAP).
  • Understand, interpret, explain, and apply regulations, directives, policies and procedures, manage time, make sound decisions, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions while comfortably representing the security team during customer interface.
  • Investigate and document security violations, infractions, or suspected compromises, and coordinate with appropriate authorities.
  • Conduct initial and annual security briefings, foreign travel debriefings, and continuous training for staff.
  • Process security clearance paperwork, manage access roster, and verifying clearances for personnel entering controlled areas.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

*On-Site Work Environment:*This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

  • Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Polygraph.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, explain and apply regulations, directives, policies and procedures, manage time, make sound decisions, analyze problems and provide focused solutions while comfortably representing the security team during customer interface.
  • Experience leading large and dynamic teams.
  • Experience working with Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Ability to identify, establish and cultivate important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders internal and external.
  • Must exhibit in-depth level of knowledge of DOD manuals, instructions, regulations, guidelines, and ICDs pertaining to national security programs.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply regulations, directives, policies and procedures, manage time, make sound decisions, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions while comfortably representing the security team during customer interface.
  • Demonstrated expert level knowledge of collateral, SAP, and SCI security requirements.
  • Experience processing access requests in DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles and other equivalent personnel security systems.
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of the U.S. Government security standards.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118747 - $201870

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
