Professional Services Engineer - Microsoft Cybersecurity - Remote - £40-50k
I’m currently recruiting for a Professional Services Engineer - Microsoft Cybersecurity for a leading UK IT solutions and managed services provider. This is a great opportunity for a Microsoft Support Engineer or Analyst who’s ready to take the next step - moving away from traditional support and into customer-facing project delivery, cybersecurity implementations and consultancy. You’ll be working hands-on with technologies including Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender XDR, while working alongside experienced consultants and developing towards a Technical Consultant role.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a Support Analyst or Engineer, with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud and security technologies, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (cloud and hybrid), and Azure
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft identity and access security services, including Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC, and identity protection
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft XDR solutions, including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps, and Office 365
- Strong technical documentation and post‑delivery reporting skills
- Excellent communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset
- Strong problem‑solving ability, with a positive, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Desire for continuous improvement and learning across security technologies
Desirable Experience
- Microsoft Information Protection and Purview (DLP, Data Lifecycle Management)
- Email security solutions such as Defender for Office 365, Mimecast, or Barracuda
- SIEM platforms including Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or LogRhythm
- Endpoint protection solutions such as Microsoft Defender, Sophos, or CrowdStrike
