Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive School Site Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our educational facility. This pivotal role ensures the smooth functioning of school activities, facilities, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong management skills, technical knowledge, and leadership qualities to foster a secure, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors alike. Your energetic approach will drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of school management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the school site and grounds.
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance, repairs and capital improvement projects.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers and external agencies to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, fire safety and statutory regulations.
  • Undertake and monitor site inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks.
  • Manage site budgets and maintain accurate records relating to premises and facilities management.
  • Line manage and support the Cleaning Team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness across the school.
  • Coordinate training and development opportunities for premises staff.
  • Support school events and activities where site management assistance is required.
  • Act as a key holder and respond to site emergencies when necessary.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience in a site management, facilities management or premises management role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors and supervising staff.
  • Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  • A flexible and professional approach to supporting the needs of the school.
