Job Summary
We are looking for a professional, motivated and customer-focused Hospital Security Coordinator to join our Security Team in a full-time, permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of security services across Leeds Teaching Hospitals, helping to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and hospital property within a complex and busy healthcare environment.
As a Hospital Security Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership and support to Security Officers, coordinate security resources, respond to incidents and emergencies, and work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, partner agencies and external stakeholders to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
The successful candidate will hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and a full UK driving licence and will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills. You will be capable of remaining calm under pressure, managing competing priorities and making effective decisions in dynamic situations. Above all, you will be committed to delivering a professional, compassionate and customer-focused security service while maintaining the highest standards of conduct, accountability and professionalism.
Why you should join our Team
Join a professional, supportive and highly respected Security Team where your work genuinely makes a difference every day. As a Hospital Security Coordinator, you will play a vital role in protecting patients, staff, visitors and hospital property across one of the region's largest and busiest healthcare organisations.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest employers in Leeds, with over 20,000 staff delivering world-class healthcare services to our communities. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that is at the heart of healthcare across West Yorkshire.
We offer ongoing training and development, opportunities for career progression, a strong team culture, and the chance to build your skills in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment. No two shifts are the same, and every member of the team is valued for the contribution they make. Together, we work to create safer hospitals and support the delivery of outstanding patient care.
What you will bring to the role
Successful candidates will work alongside our award-winning Security Team across a variety of hospital locations. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, helping to protect staff, patients, visitors, and Trust property.
Duties include responding to fire alarms and emergency calls, carrying out locking and unlocking procedures, and assisting in the resolution of disputes in a calm, professional, and respectful manner.
This is a demanding and physically active role. There will be occasions where officers are required to wear body armour as part of their operational duties.
