Overview

*UK Defence Services Ltd*is a trusted provider of security solutions across the UK. We are currently seeking a professional and detail-oriented Contract Manager to manage and oversee contractual agreements within our growing Security Services Division. This role is vital to ensuring all client and vendor contracts are legally compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with our service standards. The ideal candidate will also support business development by advising on contract terms during new client negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise client and vendor contracts in the security sector.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Support sales and operations teams in preparing contract proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Monitor active contracts for compliance, performance issues, and renewal deadlines.
  • Provide advice on contractual rights, obligations, and potential risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate contract-related issues.
  • Maintain an organised system for storing and retrieving contracts and associated documentation.
  • Liaise with legal counsel where necessary to clarify or resolve complex contract matters.
  • Stay informed of UK security industry trends, updates in contract law, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager or in a similar role (e.g., Commercial Manager, Legal Contracts Officer), ideally within the security, facilities management, or service sector.
  • Solid understanding of UK contract law, legal terminology, and commercial negotiation.
  • Experience managing client-facing contracts as well as supplier/vendor agreements.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and document management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems/software.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments (e.g., sales, operations, finance, legal).
  • A degree in Business Administration, Commercial Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
