About this role

Security Engineer

Bristol / Remote | Hybrid Working

A growing cyber security consultancy is looking for a Security Engineer to join its Security Operations team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience across the Microsoft Security stack, who enjoys building detections, improving security posture, and supporting clients within an MSSP environment.

The Role

  • Work with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender technologies
  • Develop and tune KQL queries, analytics rules and detections
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents
  • Support vulnerability management and security improvement initiatives
  • Automate security processes using Azure and Microsoft security tooling
  • Provide technical recommendations and security best practice guidance to clients

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Security Engineer, Detection Engineer or SOC Analyst role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel
  • Advanced KQL skills
  • Experience working within an MSSP or managed security services environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and Defender for Office 365
  • PowerShell experience
  • Strong understanding of security operations, threat detection and incident response

Desirable

  • SC-200, SC-100, AZ-500, CISSP or similar certifications
  • Azure security experience
  • Python or security automation experience
