Security Engineer
Bristol / Remote | Hybrid Working
A growing cyber security consultancy is looking for a Security Engineer to join its Security Operations team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience across the Microsoft Security stack, who enjoys building detections, improving security posture, and supporting clients within an MSSP environment.
The Role
- Work with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender technologies
- Develop and tune KQL queries, analytics rules and detections
- Investigate and respond to security incidents
- Support vulnerability management and security improvement initiatives
- Automate security processes using Azure and Microsoft security tooling
- Provide technical recommendations and security best practice guidance to clients
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a Security Engineer, Detection Engineer or SOC Analyst role
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel
- Advanced KQL skills
- Experience working within an MSSP or managed security services environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and Defender for Office 365
- PowerShell experience
- Strong understanding of security operations, threat detection and incident response
Desirable
- SC-200, SC-100, AZ-500, CISSP or similar certifications
- Azure security experience
- Python or security automation experience
