About this role

At Intrepid Travel we exist to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever – for both people and the planet. We've been creating positive change through the joy of travel since 1989, and we’re proud to be a certified B Corp with 1000s of experiences in over 100 countries.

Are you looking to lead a globally dispersed team of security professionals, overseeing vulnerability management, incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity? Join us at Intrepid, where security matters, to our people, our travellers, and the systems that connect us all. We’re looking for a Security Manager to lead Intrepid Travel’s global security operations and help protect the platforms, data, and information that underpin our business worldwide.

In this role, you’ll be accountable for Intrepid’s security operations, security platforms, and oversight of security compliance. You’ll provide expert guidance on security solutions and lead the delivery of an enterprise-wide security strategy that manages risk across a global organisation. Working across both on-premises and cloud environments, you’ll ensure strong defence capabilities, data privacy controls, and compliance with relevant regulatory and security frameworks.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who can balance strategic leadership with deep technical expertise, working closely with technology leaders and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in security practices.

This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role, based in our Brixton office, with an expectation to be onsite approximately 3 days per week while leading a globally dispersed team. The approved salary range for this position is £73,000 - £90,000 GBP dependent on experience, plus a great benefits package and many awesome perks.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include

  • Expert understanding of information systems, security solutions and defence capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Strong experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA and ISO
  • Deep knowledge of IT security standards including NIST, ISO 27001 and PCI
  • Experience overseeing data privacy practices and implementing effective data protection controls
  • Proven capability protecting information assets from cyber threats
  • Strong risk management experience, including identifying, assessing and mitigating security risks
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, lead a security team, and deliver measurable security improvements
  • Experience linking disaster recovery and business continuity within an incident response context
  • Confidence reporting security outcomes and recommendations to senior leaders and key stakeholders

Desirable experience includes

  • Industry-recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC
  • Cloud security experience across platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Experience working with DevSecOps teams to embed security through automation
  • Managing external vendors and security partners
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams

If you’re motivated by protecting complex systems, leading meaningful security improvements, and working in a purpose-driven global organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
