We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Security Operations Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of commercial properties across Melbourne, with some oversight of retail locations.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a security professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing operational excellence, client relationship management, people leadership, and business growth.

You will work closely with clients, site leadership teams, and security personnel to ensure exceptional service delivery, strong operational performance, and positive client outcomes across a portfolio of premium commercial assets.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Operations Management

  • Lead the delivery of security services across a portfolio of commercial and selected retail sites.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations, KPIs, and service standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Manage incident responses and provide leadership during critical situations.
  • Develop and implement operational plans and security strategies.
  • Monitor workforce deployment to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Provide hands-on operational support and relief coverage when required.

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Site Supervisors and Security Officers.
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, and performance.
  • Conduct coaching sessions, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Maintain workforce coverage through effective rostering and contingency planning.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with retail and commercial client stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational matters.
  • Conduct regular client meetings and performance reviews.
  • Deliver professional reports and insights on security performance and trends.
  • Ensure client expectations are consistently exceeded.

Business Growth & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
  • Assist with tenders, proposals, and implementation of new contracts.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and best-practice security solutions.
  • Support the successful mobilisation of new sites and projects.

Work Health & Safety

  • Champion a strong safety-first culture across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Deliver ongoing safety training and support to operational teams.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive leader with strong operational experience and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding client service.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing security operations across multiple sites.
  • Previous leadership experience within the security industry.
  • Current VIC Private Security Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence.
  • Strong understanding of security risk management and incident response.
  • Experience developing operational plans, reports, and security documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience managing commercial security operations across multiple sites, with retail/ Commercial portfolio experience highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV in Security Risk Management.
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Experience mobilising new contracts and managing large workforces.
