About this role

As our highly valued Senior Analyst, Operational Risk & Resilience based in Brisbane or Sydney, your role will provide second line oversight, challenge and assurance across operational risk and resilience activities, helping to strengthen the Bank’s ability to anticipate, withstand and recover from disruption.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Providing independent oversight and challenge across operational risk and resilience activities throughout the Bank
  • Supporting the ongoing maturity of operational resilience frameworks, business continuity arrangements and CPS 230 compliance obligations
  • Reviewing and challenging risk assessments, incidents, controls, issues and remediation activities to strengthen risk outcomes
  • Performing second line control testing and oversight to assess control effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Supporting resilience scenario testing and business continuity exercises, ensuring critical operations can be maintained during disruption
  • Providing oversight of supplier and third-party risk, with a focus on critical services and operational resilience
  • Using GRC systems, risk data and reporting to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Preparing clear, actionable reporting and insights for senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making

This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the operational resilience of a customer-owned bank.

You'll work across business, technology, procurement, compliance and risk teams, helping the Bank identify vulnerabilities, challenge assumptions and improve how risk is managed. From business continuity and supplier risk through to control testing and resilience oversight, you'll have exposure to a broad range of risk disciplines and a direct line of sight to how your work influences business outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will have

  • At least three years' experience in operational risk, operational resilience or similar within financial services
  • Experience supporting or reviewing business continuity planning, resilience testing or operational resilience reporting (desireable)
  • Experience performing control testing or reviewing control design and operating effectiveness (desirable)
  • Experience using GRC systems to monitor, assess and report on risks, controls, issues and incidents
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and identify meaningful insights
  • Excellent written communication skills, including preparing reports, risk papers and stakeholder communications
