As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst at Origin, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding one of Australia's most essential energy providers against an ever-evolving threat landscape. Working alongside a talented and passionate team of cyber analysts, threat hunters and security engineers, you'll leverage cutting-edge technologies to detect, investigate and respond to sophisticated cyber threats across cloud and on-premise environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, investigate and respond to cyber security alerts, incidents and emerging threats.
  • Conduct threat hunting, threat intelligence analysis and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and enhance security monitoring use cases, detections and response capabilities.
  • Support the operation and continuous improvement of cyber security technologies including SIEM, EDR, email security and DLP platforms.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to strengthen security controls and support remediation activities.
  • Contribute to cyber security uplift initiatives and provide subject matter expertise across Cyber Defence operations.

About You

You are a cyber security professional with a passion for threat detection, incident response and continuous improvement. You enjoy solving complex problems, thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a proactive approach to defending against cyber threats.

You'll bring

  • Proven experience in IT security with demonstrated skills in monitoring, incident response and cyber threat analysis.
  • Knowledge of SIEM platforms, use case development and security detection engineering.
  • Experience with threat intelligence, threat hunting and vulnerability management practices.
  • Strong understanding of Windows, Linux and macOS environments.
  • Strong understanding of AWS and Azure security services, IAM, logging and monitoring capabilities.
  • Knowledge of network security principles, segmentation, firewall policy and traffic analysis.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python or Bash will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant cyber security qualifications or certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, CREST, AWS or Azure Security certifications are desirable.
