Assistant Site Manager

SUEZ is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager to join our new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Facility in Ashington, Northumberland. Our facility plays a key role in diverting waste from landfill, generating renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting a circular economy.

*Salary:*£32,937 - £38,636

*Benefits:*up to 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance policy, sick pay, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, 5% employer pension, Overtime Available

Hours: 7.30am - 16.30pm Monday - Friday

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you'll support the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the Anaerobic Digestion Facility. You'll work closely with operational teams, customers and contractors to help deliver outstanding environmental, safety and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities include

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and contractual requirements.
  • Planning and coordinating operational activities while helping to manage team performance and development.
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise revenue, improve efficiencies and control costs.
  • Managing plant, machinery and equipment to ensure safe operation, maintenance and regulatory compliance.
  • Driving continuous improvement and best practice to enhance customer service, safety, sustainability and operational performance.

What are the requirements?

The ideal candidate will show initiative, and be able to work as part of a dynamic team. For this role you will need:

  • Experience of working within an Anaerobic Digestion facility, waste processing facility, manufacturing environment or other operational setting.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential); NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of COTC/WAMITAB requirements. A COTC in Anaerobic Digestion is highly desirable; however, training can be provided where required.
  • Strong commercial awareness, numerical skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team, build positive relationships and contribute to continuous improvement.
