About this role

Job Overview

  • Working in partnership with all areas of the business to deliver the smooth and effective day to day running of the site based Security Control room. To keep the Security Site Manager/Supervisor informed of incidents, and to ensure that agreed levels of service and contractual requirements are achieved as a minimum.

Responsible for the cohesive delivery of Security related incident acting as the heart of the Centre for all operational response to incidents.

This position will involve effectively managing the effective response to all incidents in the centre, acting as part of the team and leading by example whilst ensuring that the centre offers our guests a superb experience consistently.

You will work closely with our Security, Housekeeping and M&E departments in the centres incident management, being the first point of contact for a variety of stakeholders such as guests, Brand Partners, businesses, and contractors.

Main Duties

  • To effectively co-ordinate the response of teams to incidents reported into the control room.
  • To ensure that all critical alarms are actioned in a timely manner.
  • To maintain a key element of the Control Room function by utilising the technology available to ensure that as far as possible the building remains secure and any suspicious activity is noted and communicated in line with standard operating procedures.
  • To ensure that all incidents, which occur during the course of your duties, are reported promptly and recorded within the guidelines set and efficiently dealt with.
  • Report any incidents that need escalation to the Emergency Services, recording all incident in the MERLIN platform.
  • To assist in preventing unauthorised access/egress through Service Yards.
  • To ensure that the strict procedures for the removal of goods are maintained at all times.
  • To conduct a patrol of the premises using CCTV internally noting results in the patrol book. To work smart demonstrating a pro-active work ethic, motivating the team spirit and maintaining good morale to ensure the best performance always ensuring levels of motivation are maintained throughout the workforce.
  • Ensure full compliance with site policies and procedures in line with the Assignment Instructions.
  • To monitor access and egress of personnel and respond to breaches. To maintain and monitor all emergency systems and to efficiently and efficiently deal with emergencies/evacuations.
  • To be responsible for the administration, issue and return of all keys and radio communication equipment, BWV and to assist in the access card production process.
  • Gathering, delivering and utilising both open source and restricted intelligence from police teams and other sources.
  • Creating and maintaining intelligence updates for the security team.
  • To ensure integrity of the security systems is maintained.
  • To ensure that the removal of goods and permit to work procedures are maintained at all times.
  • To comply with data protection guidelines regarding disclosure of personal and confidential information held on the security databases.
  • To ensure all incoming telephone calls are answered in a timely manner and to take over the switchboard after 19:00 hours.
  • To ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To ensure any queries in the first instance are referred to the supervisor on shift.
  • To ensure that all security cards are locked away.
  • To ensure the filing is completed during the day

  • Demonstrable proactive and professional approach to security.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and also as a member of a team
  • Experience in working within a team as well as on your own - essential
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and policy
  • Corporate experience preferred but not
  • Previous experience within a similar role.
  • CCTV SIA Licence is required
