About this role
Company: Vigilance Ltd
Pay: £200 per assignment
Working pattern: Casual, typically 1-2 nights per week during university term time, mainly weekends
Vigilance Ltd is recruiting two experienced Close Protection Operatives to work together providing discreet protection for a small private group of international HNW clients during evenings out in London. We are also interested in hearing from suitable operatives available for occasional cover.
The clients want to enjoy their evenings with the reassurance of a capable, professional team nearby. The role requires someone who can blend naturally into social settings, build a comfortable rapport and remain attentive without drawing unnecessary attention.
The role
You will accompany the group inside venues and between locations, working closely with a second operative to maintain appropriate coverage throughout the evening.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing a discreet, reassuring protective presence.
- Maintaining situational awareness and identifying concerns early.
- Handling sensitive situations calmly, tactfully and without unnecessary confrontation.
- Liaising professionally with venue staff and transport providers where needed.
- Supporting the group’s safe departure and return home.
- Maintaining client confidentiality and clear professional boundaries.
Who we are looking for
Essential
- A valid SIA Close Protection licence.
- At least one year of operational close protection experience.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- A calm manner, sound judgement and a reliable approach to work.
- Confidence working in busy nightlife environments.
- The ability to remain non-judgemental while prioritising client welfare and safety.
- Availability for late-night weekend assignments in London.
- The right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience providing low-profile protection for private or HNW clients.
- Good knowledge of London nightlife and transport options.
- Please specify any language skills, with your proficiency and dialect (where applicable). This is an advantage, not a requirement; the clients speak English.
- A full driving licence. Please state any relevant driving experience in your application.
The usual dress code is smart casual, appropriate to the venues being visited.
Hours and payment
Assignments are expected to start around 8-9pm and finish around 4-5am. Finish times can vary with the clients’ plans, so flexibility is required.
The assignment rate is £200, inclusive of travel costs to and from work. It is a flat assignment rate rather than an hourly rate, and anticipated overruns are included, subject to applicable statutory pay requirements.
PAYE is also available. For qualifying casual PAYE engagements, the £200 gross total includes statutory rolled-up holiday pay, itemised separately.
This is ongoing casual work during university term time. Typically, 1-2 nights per week are anticipated, but assignments depend on client requirements and shifts are not guaranteed.
To apply
Please submit your CV and answer the application questions, indicating whether you are interested in a regular place on the team, occasional cover, or both.
Please describe relevant experience without naming confidential clients or sharing identifying details.
Pay: £200.00 per day
