About this role
Compliance Consultant – Product Deployment
Melbourne | On-site | Financial Services | 12-month FTC
We’re partnering with a leading global payments organisation to find a Compliance Consultant to join a growing deployment team, working closely with a major Australian financial services organisation.
This is a newly created role where you’ll be at the heart of bringing new payment and financial products to market — supporting the journey from product design and development through implementation, testing and go-live.
What you’ll do
- Provide compliance advice across the end-to-end product lifecycle, from design through to implementation and launch
- Assess new payment, credit and financial products against Australian regulatory requirements
- Advise on NCCP/NCCPA, ASIC Act and consumer credit obligations
- Work closely with Product, Legal, Risk, Technology and Operations teams to build compliance into products and customer journeys
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical controls, processes and implementation actions
- Support product governance, launch readiness and regulatory sign-off
- Review customer communications, disclosures and product processes
- Identify and manage regulatory risks, incidents and potential reportable situations
- Provide pragmatic advice that balances regulatory requirements, customer outcomes and commercial objectives
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a hands-on Compliance professional who has genuinely supported products through development and implementation — rather than someone whose experience is primarily compliance monitoring or QA.
You’ll ideally bring
- 5+ years’ experience across compliance, risk or regulatory advisory within financial services
- Strong knowledge of NCCP/NCCPA and the ASIC Act
- Experience with consumer credit, payments or financial products
- Demonstrated experience supporting new products or significant product changes from design through implementation and go-live
- Strong understanding of responsible lending, customer outcomes and regulatory obligations
- Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Legal, Risk and Operations
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience with regulatory incidents, breaches and reportable situations
Why this role?
This isn't a traditional compliance monitoring role.
You'll be embedded within a product deployment environment, working alongside business and product teams to help bring new products to market safely and compliantly.
If you enjoy being close to the product, solving regulatory challenges and seeing your advice directly influence how products are built and launched, we'd love to hear from you.

About compliance & regulatory roles for ex-police
Compliance, AML/CTF and regulatory roles. Working to AUSTRAC, ASIC and APRA obligations is a stronger regulatory grounding than most civilian applicants can offer — firms increasingly recognise this.
