This role applies technical expertise in vehicle standards compliance to support the effective operation of vehicle testing, certification and licensing schemes, including Licensed Vehicle Testers (LVT), Vehicle Identity Validation (VIV), Alternative Fuel Systems Assessment and Certification Scheme (AFSACS) and Alcohol Interlock (AI) programs. The position identifies compliance risks, conducts assessments and provides reporting and advice to support risk-based assurance activities.
The Compliance Officer plans and delivers compliance programs, prepares detailed reports and provides advice to senior leaders and industry stakeholders on compliance, risk and information security matters. The role also builds strong relationships with service providers, ensures alignment with relevant legislation and standards, and contributes to a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

- Applies strong technical knowledge of vehicle standards, legislation and compliance requirements to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Uses sound judgement and analytical skills to investigate complex issues, identify trends and recommend practical solutions.
- Develops and applies compliance frameworks, processes and reporting tools to support effective risk-based compliance activities.
- Plans, prioritises and delivers work independently, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed standards and timeframes.
- Builds strong stakeholder relationships, communicates complex information clearly and influences positive compliance and business outcomes through effective engagement and negotiation.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring
- Recognised vehicle engineering or automotive mechanical trade qualifications, including Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) accreditation or the ability to obtain accreditation (mandatory).
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of vehicle standards, compliance requirements and the automotive industry.
- A current valid driver licence (mandatory).
