Role Summary

We are seeking a Head of Fraud (Director) to join our Fraud team, within Compliance. As an experienced and influential fraud risk leader to head our UK Fraud team you would play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the EMEA Fraud Risk Management framework.

This is a high-profile leadership position responsible for ensuring the organisation remains resilient against evolving fraud threats while meeting regulatory expectations and industry best practice. Acting as the senior Fraud subject matter expert within the second line of defence, you will provide strategic oversight, expert guidance, and challenge across the business, partnering with senior stakeholders to strengthen fraud controls, drive continuous improvement, and foster a strong fraud risk culture across the region. The successful candidate will bring deep fraud risk management expertise, a proven track record of implementing enterprise-wide frameworks, and the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.

Business Area

The Head of Fraud role sits within the 2LoD FCG Frameworks & Advisory team, leading the Fraud Team. The Fraud team is part of the wider Compliance Department.

There are various stakeholders the incumbent will need maintain close collaboration with, including the Regional Chief Compliance Officer, the Financial Crime Group leads, Local Compliance Officers/Money Laundering Reporting Officers, and all other support and control functions as required.

Position Description

Core responsibilities & key experience

Lead and manage the UK FCG Fraud team

Further develop and enhance the EMEA Fraud framework, in order that the program is fit for purpose in accordance with regulatory expectations including acting upon new and emerging threats/risks, findings (both internal and external), industry best practice, etc. This includes making recommendations for, and where appropriate implement improvements to the fraud systems and controls.

Analyse and interpret the fraud regulations and laws to enforce effective management, oversight and implementation of fraud policies, procedures and standards, required to meet the legal and regulatory expectations.

Be the experienced subject matter expert on fraud and act in an advisory capacity within the 2LoD. This includes leading the provision of support and guidance to the EMEA offices regarding Fraud risk management.

Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote best practice and ensure a good understanding of financial crime requirements.

Identify and address any training needs across all departments within the 3 lines of defence framework.

Skills required

Ability to work well under pressure ensuring all deadlines are met, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail at all times.

Experience in implementing enterprise wide Fraud risk management frameworks.

Experienced decision maker, with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels.
