  • *Working hours*4 on days – 4 off days 12-hour shifts days and nights
  • *Salary:*Up to: £35,000+ 20% shift allowance
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance (UK resident for the last 5 years) and NPPV2 clearance

The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day to day basis

At Littlefish, we're passionate about helping our customers stay secure in an increasingly complex cyber landscape. We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Analyst Tier 2 to join our Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), providing advanced threat detection, investigation and response services while acting as an escalation point for our Tier 1 analysts.

As a Tier 2 Cyber Security Analyst, you'll be a key member of the CSOC team, responsible for investigating verified security incidents, supporting customers through security events, and helping to continuously improve our security operations capability.

Key responsibilities include

  • Monitoring and investigating alerts generated by our SIEM platforms
  • Performing advanced threat triage, analysis and response activities
  • Supporting incident response investigations and root cause analysis
  • Acting as an escalation point and mentor for Tier 1 analysts
  • Conducting security posture assessments across endpoint, email, identity and cloud environments
  • Communicating security incidents and technical information to customers in a clear and understandable way
  • Analysing emerging cyber threats and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Enhancing security playbooks, processes and response procedures
  • Helping ensure the integrity and security of customer infrastructure and data through a layered security approach

We need a candidate with

  • Proven experience within a Security Operations Centre or similar cyber security role
  • Experience investigating and responding to cyber security incidents within agreed SLAs
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR and email security technologies
  • Experience mentoring or supporting analysts at different stages of their careers
  • A strong understanding of cyber threats, attack techniques and compromise methods
  • Knowledge of server, endpoint and network technologies
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for cyber security and continuous learning

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience working as an Incident Responder
  • Experience developing detection rules, automation workflows or SOAR playbooks
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and remediation processes
  • Understanding of HMG security standards and processes
  • Microsoft certifications such as SC-200, SC-100, AZ-500 or MS-500
  • SANS certifications including GSOC, GMON, GCED or GCDA
