Swinburne's Cyber Security team and play a key role in protecting and strengthening the University's digital environment. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you'll support the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise cyber security platforms and tools.

Working closely with experienced cyber security professionals, you'll contribute to the configuration and optimisation of security technologies, including log onboarding, alert tuning, reporting, documentation, and operational support. You'll help ensure our security systems are reliable, well-managed, and positioned to support threat detection, investigation, vulnerability management, automation, and incident response activities across the University.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your cyber security engineering expertise while making a meaningful contribution to Swinburne's cyber resilience and security maturity.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• Support the configuration, maintenance, and administration of Swinburne’s enterprise cyber security tools and platforms.
• Perform routine tooling health checks, including data ingestion, alerting performance, connectors, access, and platform availability.
• Assist with troubleshooting configuration, integration, telemetry, and performance issues under guidance from senior team members.
• Support the administration of Microsoft Sentinel and related SIEM capabilities, including analytics rules, workbooks, data connectors, watchlists, automation rules, and incident configuration.
• Assist with onboarding and maintaining security logs to support detection, investigation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Support Swinburne’s security platforms, including endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management, cloud security, email security, identity protection, data protection, and related monitoring tools.
• Assist with maintaining tool configurations, integrations, roles, access controls, service acc Assist with developing, maintaining, testing, and documenting automation and SOAR workflows that support investigation, containment, enrichment, notification, and response activities.
