SHIFT PATTERN: Flexible, 0 hours per week

PAY RATE: £ 13.10 per hour

Main Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly professional and flexible Dedicated Relief Officer to support the operation of our CCTV Control Room. The successful candidate will provide cover across various shifts as required, ensuring the continuous monitoring and security of the site while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence.

This role requires a valid SIA CCTV Licence and SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence. The officer must demonstrate exceptional observational skills, effective communication, and the ability to remain calm and decisive during incidents and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV systems and security equipment to identify and respond to suspicious activity, incidents, and security breaches.
  • Conduct proactive surveillance to ensure the safety and security of the premises, personnel, visitors, and assets.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and operational concerns in line with site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and incident reports using company reporting systems.
  • Liaise effectively with contractors, visitors, site management, emergency services, and external authorities.
  • Operate two-way radio systems and other communication equipment professionally and efficiently.
  • Escalate security concerns and operational issues in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist with investigations by reviewing CCTV footage and providing evidence when required.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCTV legislation, company policies, and security procedures.
  • Provide flexible shift cover, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Support wider security operations when necessary and undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid SIA CCTV Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Previous experience within a CCTV Control Room or security environment.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with colleagues, contractors, visitors, emergency services, and local authorities.
  • Experience using radio communication systems.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of security procedures and incident management.
  • Competent in the use of computer systems and security management software.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in a control room environment.
  • CCTV qualification or relevant security-related certification.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and CCTV operational compliance.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.

Job Type: Full-Time / Relief Position

Licence Requirement: SIA CCTV Licence and SIA Security Licence (Essential)

Experience: CCTV Control Room and Security Operations preferred.

Please be aware that we will have to complete a level 2 vetting with the police once training has been completed.
