Company Overview

Definitive Security Services is a relatively new security services provider, based in Reading Berkshire, our teams provide security guarding services but specialise in providing event security services to clients across the South East & South West of England.

We have been providing ad-hoc cover to a small number of clients, however we are now seeking to take on ongoing deployments, and in addition to this we have had to turn down a number of deployments due to a lack of available staff. We are now looking to increase the number of staff in our event team pool to ensure we have enough staff to meet ongoing deployments and to continue to assist our ad-hoc clients.

Our event safety teams can provide security & stewards for small private functions and corporate events through to large scale events and festivals. In general we provide our event safety teams to clients across the South East and South West, but we are able to provide cover Nationwide.

Scope Of The Role

We are currently recruiting reliable SIA Door Supervisors to join our event security team pool, in the build up to the festive season and for events into 2027.

This is a flexible, zero-hours role designed for individuals who require a work-life balance or wish to supplement their income with event security work.

We offer total flexibility through a transparent deployment system. Available shifts are posted to a dedicated WhatsApp group and our internal rota, giving you the freedom to choose assignments that suit your availability and professional skills.

As a member of our event security team, you will be deployed across various strategic positions within the event footprint. Key responsibilities include:

  • Search & Entry Control Responsible for credential verification and conducting thorough property and personal searches in accordance with the Event Operations Plan. This team ensures all customers possess valid access rights and prevents the entry of prohibited items.
  • General Security & Liaison Acting as a visible deterrent and customer liaison, these officers manage incidents across the site—including main arenas, Front and back of house areas, front-of-stage areas, car parks, and campsites. This role encompasses both static and mobile perimeter control.
  • Security Response Teams (SRT) Fully mobile units tasked with responding to high-priority security incidents and protecting high-value assets. Working typically in teams of six, you will provide rapid intervention for security breaches and offer tactical support to onsite medical teams during emergencies.
  • Stewardship Support & Supervision SIA-licensed officers in this role oversee teams of safety stewards. You will provide professional guidance and perform licensed interventions should a situation escalate beyond the scope of non-licensed staff.
  • VIP & Backstage Operations Predominantly reserved for SIA Close Protection license holders, these officers secure highly sensitive areas and assets. You will serve as a primary liaison between Event Production and Security Control, ensuring that access is strictly limited to authorised personnel.

Requirements

· Valid SIA Door Supervisor / Close Protection Licence

· Good Communication and time keeping skills

· Experience is preferred; however, all our event security staff are required to undertake our event safety officer training course as part of their induction training. This will provide successful applicants a broad understanding of our operational planning and execution of our event security services.

What We Offer

· Guaranteed 6 hours paid per deployment (except induction training).

· Internal recruitment and progression as the company expands services and contracts, we favour internal recruitment over external for new contracts.

· Opportunities to undertake additional regulated training such as FREC 3 / 4 and teaching qualifications
