About this role

We’re working with a leading financial services organisation that is looking for an experienced Financial Crime Compliance Risk Manager to join its growing risk and compliance function.

This is an exciting opportunity for a financial crime professional who combines strong regulatory and risk expertise with an interest in technology, data analytics, risk modelling and monitoring effectiveness.

You’ll play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s Financial Crime risk management framework, using data and technology to identify emerging risks, improve controls and provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.

The Role

As Financial Crime Compliance Risk Manager, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the organisation’s Financial Crime risk management capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading the design and execution of Financial Crime risk assessments across relevant business areas.
  • Developing and enhancing Financial Crime risk management frameworks, methodologies and processes.
  • Using data analytics and risk modelling to identify trends, vulnerabilities and emerging Financial Crime risks.
  • Assessing and optimising the effectiveness of transaction monitoring and other Financial Crime monitoring systems.
  • Supporting the implementation and enhancement of Financial Crime technology solutions.
  • Using data-driven analysis to identify opportunities to improve Financial Crime controls and operational effectiveness.
  • Producing high-quality management information and reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Translating complex risk and data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Working collaboratively with Compliance, Risk, Technology, Data and other key stakeholders to deliver Financial Crime risk initiatives.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of the organisation’s approach to Financial Crime risk management in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practice.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in Financial Crime Compliance, Financial Crime Risk or a related risk discipline, who is comfortable working at the intersection of risk, data and technology.

You’ll ideally have

  • Strong experience within Financial Crime Compliance or Financial Crime Risk Management in a financial services environment.
  • Experience conducting or overseeing Financial Crime risk assessments.
  • A good understanding of Financial Crime risks, controls, monitoring and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience with data analytics, risk modelling and/or management information.
  • Exposure to Financial Crime monitoring systems and experience assessing their effectiveness.
  • Experience supporting or delivering technology-enabled Financial Crime solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful risk insight.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
