As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Lead Electronic Security Engineer who combines excellent technical ability with strong leadership qualities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting colleagues and taking ownership of service delivery while remaining hands-on.

The Role

Working closely with the Engineering Services Manager, you will become one of the Company's senior technical engineers, supporting both customers and colleagues across our service and small works operations.

Your role will involve resolving technical faults, supporting the successful delivery of small works and projects, mentoring engineers and acting as a trusted technical resource for both customers and the wider engineering team.

This is a varied role combining technical support, customer interaction, project coordination and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers both remotely and on-site.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults across integrated electronic security systems.
  • Support commissioning, upgrades and system modifications.
  • Assist engineers with fault finding, programming and configuration.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.
  • Deliver internal technical training where appropriate.

Service & Small Works

  • Carry out customer surveys and identify technical solutions.
  • Prepare quotations using SimPRO.
  • Plan labour, materials and programme requirements.
  • Coordinate engineers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Support the successful delivery of service, maintenance, upgrades and small works projects.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, profitably and to a high standard.
  • Complete customer handovers, documentation and certification.

Customer Support

  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional technical support.
  • Provide remote diagnostics and telephone support.
  • Recommend system improvements and upgrade opportunities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at every stage of the customer journey.

Remote Connectivity & Integration

  • Configure remote connectivity solutions.
  • Support cloud-based security platforms.
  • Configure remote monitoring connections.
  • Carry out firmware and software updates.
  • Assist with Police URN administration where required.
  • Support commissioning and integration of monitored systems.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Ensure compliance with Company procedures, British Standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintain accurate electronic service records and documentation.

About You

You are an experienced electronic security engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting colleagues and delivering high-quality customer service.

You are organised, professional and capable of managing multiple priorities while remaining calm under pressure.

Most importantly, you're someone who leads by example and enjoys helping others develop.

Essential

  • Proven experience working with integrated electronic security systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Detection.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of IP networking.
  • Experience carrying out surveys and preparing quotations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to support and mentor other engineers.
  • Competent using mobile technology and electronic job management systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience using SimPRO.
  • Experience leading engineers or supervising projects.
  • SSSTS or equivalent.
  • ECS/CSCS Card.
  • Experience with enterprise CCTV platforms and integrated security solutions.
  • Knowledge of remote monitoring and cloud-based systems.
  • Some experience with fire detection systems.
