EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Security Officer to join our team at Heathrow Airport Hounslow TW6 2LA . This is a full-time position working 42 hours per week and offering an annual salary of £29,702.40, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Shift Pattern

As a Mobile Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, responding to security incidents and alarm activations, carrying out site inspections, and ensuring all security procedures are followed. You will play a key role in protecting the site, its people, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a visible security presence. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

What will you deliver?

As a Mobile Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the site through proactive monitoring, access control, incident response, and routine patrols. You will provide a visible security presence, respond to alarms and emergencies, conduct site inspections, and ensure all security procedures are followed to protect people, property, and assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the site and report any security concerns or incidents.
  • Monitor CCTV and security systems, identifying and responding to suspicious activity.
  • Manage access control, verifying identification and authorisation as required.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, security breaches, and emergency situations in line with site procedures.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, records, and security logs.
  • Ensure all security equipment is operating effectively and report faults where necessary.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Act as the first point of contact for security-related enquiries from staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining security protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with the Security Supervisor and management team regarding incidents and site activity.
  • Liaise with emergency services when required.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Conduct fire safety inspections, including monitoring fire doors and emergency exits.
  • Support emergency evacuations and fire drills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company uniform standards.
  • Support reception or concierge services when required.
  • Escort visitors and contractors around the site as necessary.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role.

Due to the nature of this role the successful applicants must be able to pass and maintain the following security clearances:

Security Vetting May Include

  • • Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • SIA Licence
  • Identity verification (passport, driving licence, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Right to work verification
  • Employment history checks
  • Address history verification
  • Criminal record checks
  • Verification of any significant periods spent overseas
  • Reference checks where applicable

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain CTC clearance.
  • SIA Licence
  • Full UK driving licence and reliable transport to travel to site.
  • Flexibility to work within the operational hours of the contract.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high security standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
  • CCTV Licence (desirable but not essential).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Previous experience within a security environment.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, public safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • High levels of professionalism and customer focus.
  • Competent IT skills, including experience using security systems and incident reporting tools.
