Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Part-Time Security Officer to carry out opening and locking duties across a number of buildings and business centres. This role is ideal for someone looking for consistent part-time hours split between early mornings and evenings.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of our premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing buildings and business centres at designated times
- Locking up premises in the evenings, ensuring all access points are secure
- Carrying out basic security checks during opening and closing routines
- Ensuring alarm systems are activated/deactivated correctly
- Reporting any suspicious activity, damage, or security concerns
- Liaising with management or emergency services when required
- Maintaining accurate records/logs where necessary
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Security Licence (required)
- Ability to provide a valid DBS certificate or undergo a DBS check
- Full driving licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel between multiple sites
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- High level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong observational and situational awareness skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Physically capable of carrying out patrols and checks
- Right to work in the country
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience in security, facilities, or key-holding roles
- Knowledge of alarm systems and access control
