Join a well-known and growing Australian financial services organisation in a principal security engineering role. As the Principal, you will be the senior technical voice across cloud and infrastructure security, working closely with the CISO and technology leadership.

This role requires strong technical depth, but equally important is your ability to understand a complex environment, build credibility and influence change. You will help influence long-term security direction while balancing risk, commercial priorities and different stakeholder perspectives across an established enterprise.

  • Own and collaborate on the technical direction across security engineering and cloud security
  • Strengthen security controls across Azure, infrastructure, identity and applications
  • Drive secure Azure patterns including Private Link, segmentation and identity controls
  • Embed Infrastructure as Code to deliver repeatable and auditable security patterns
  • Lead technical response to complex and high-impact security incidents
  • Partner with technology teams to prioritise and deliver sustainable security uplift

About you

  • 7+ years' experience in senior cyber security engineering roles
  • Strong Azure security, networking, Active Directory and Entra ID experience
  • Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep or similar
  • Strong SIEM, PAM, firewall/WAF, vulnerability and endpoint security knowledge
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and navigate competing technical opinions
  • Comfortable building relationships and driving change within complex enterprise environments

Experience within financial services, another regulated organisation or a large enterprise environment will be highly regarded.

You must be Melbourne based and an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Sponsorship is not available.
