Are you passionate about high-quality education and precision in compliance? As our RTO Quality and Compliance Officer, you’ll be the driving force behind maintaining our Registered Training Organisation’s (RTO) gold-standard compliance with Australian regulations. From internal audits and policy updates to ensuring our trainers are up-to-date and our data is clean, you’ll play a central role in delivering trusted, top-tier training to both our Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Club Members and commercial clients.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain compliance with the Standards for RTOs, VET Quality Framework, ASQA requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Conduct internal audits, quality assurance reviews, and compliance monitoring activities.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements, including AVETMISS, Quality Indicators, DTET and other VET reporting obligations.
- Develop, review, and maintain RTO policies, procedures, compliance documentation, and quality frameworks.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including corrective action plans and quality reviews.
- Maintain trainer and assessor qualification, competency, and currency records.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of student data, records, and reporting within aXcelerate and other education systems.
- Oversee compliance of learning management systems, online enrolment platforms, websites, and education-related digital resources.
- Support training product development, resource reviews, mapping activities, and training package transitions.
- Build compliance awareness across the organisation through stakeholder engagement, training, audit coordination, and best-practice quality assurance processes.
About You
Essential
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card (or have the ability to obtain one).
- Successfully complete a National Police Check (or be willing and able to obtain one prior to commencement).
- TAE50116 Diploma or TAE40122 Cert IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent).
- 3+ years’ experience in an RTO environment.
- Experience in processing awards, certificates or similar tasks.
- Experience in preparing or validating data for AVETMISS reporting and ensuring data quality with Student Management System.
- Strong knowledge of the VET sector, ASQA standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Confident with internal audits, risk management, and closing compliance gaps.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and everything in between.
- Experience with aXcelerate or similar Student Management Systems.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- A natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Great at juggling priorities, solving problems, and keeping calm under pressure.
