What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., EPA, DP&E, etc.).
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate and document accidents, near misses, and incidents, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, training logs, compliance certifications, and regulatory reports.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and procedures, ensuring all staff are prepared for fire, spill, chemical, or medical emergencies.
  • Manage and monitor hazardous waste storage, labelling, transport, and disposal in accordance with environmental laws.
  • Lead training programs for employees, contractors, and new hires on safety procedures, PPE usage, and environmental protocols.
  • Work closely with operations, HR, and management to promote a proactive safety culture across all teams.
  • Monitor air quality, noise levels, and potential contaminant exposure to ensure worker health and environmental protection.
  • Track and analyse safety metrics and KPIs to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections or audits by agencies such as the EPA.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and ensure that all recycling processes meet internal and external environmental standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, legal updates, and best practices in environmental health & safety (EHS) and waste management.

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of waste management regulations and environmental safety standards.
  • Experience in occupational health & safety (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
