An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer to join our Business and Operations Team. This specialist role plays a critical part in leading and overseeing the College's safety, risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-managed environment for students, staff and visitors. The position combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational responsibility and provides specialist advice to the Principal and Leadership Team.

This is a part time (0.8FTE) ongoing position to commence as soon as possible.

As the Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer, you will

  • Lead and oversee the College's workplace health and safety, risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage the College Risk Register and provide specialist advice on risk management across the College.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory obligations and lead policy, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Lead incident, hazard and injury reporting, investigation and follow-up processes.
  • Lead emergency management planning, workplace inspections and safety initiatives.
  • Provide reporting, analysis and recommendations to the Principal, Leadership Team, Board and relevant committees to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who has

  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
  • Substantial experience in workplace health and safety, risk management, compliance or a related specialist field.
  • The ability to interpret legislation, regulations and standards and translate requirements into practical systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify emerging risks and provide sound recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialist advice, exercise professional judgement and work autonomously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse school community.
