About this role

Harvey Nichols is seeking a Security Officer to join our team in Knightsbridge, a destination for modern luxury and cutting-edge style. Harvey Nichols curates an edit of the world’s most sought-after fashion brands, and our Security team plays a vital role in protecting our people, products, and environment while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This is a full time permanent role where we require full flexibility.

As our new Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, colleagues, and partners. Acting as a visible and reassuring presence on the shop floor, you will deliver a professional and proactive security service by:

  • Monitoring store entrances, shop floor areas, and back-of-house spaces to deter and prevent loss
  • Conducting regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of people, stock, and property
  • Responding promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity
  • Working closely with store management and retail teams to support loss prevention strategies
  • Monitoring CCTV systems in line with company policy and legal requirements
  • Managing access control for staff, contractors, and deliveries
  • Providing a welcoming and professional first impression to clients while maintaining vigilance
  • Completing accurate incident reports and maintaining clear communication with management
  • Remaining flexible and available when our clients need us most, including evenings and weekends

  • Do you have previous experience in retail security or a similar security role?
  • Do you hold a valid SIA licence?
  • Are you calm under pressure and confident handling challenging situations?
  • Do you demonstrate strong observational skills and attention to detail?
  • Are you confident communicating with a wide range of people in a professional manner?
  • Do you thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile retail environment?
