Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a professional, reliable and customer-focused Security / Reception Officer to join our team on a permanent basis in the Redhill area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and professional environment while also providing a high standard of reception and front-of-house service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for site security, access control, reception duties, visitor management, regular patrols and responding appropriately to incidents and enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, friendly and efficient reception service.
  • Welcome and assist visitors, clients, residents, contractors and staff.
  • Monitor and control access to the premises in accordance with site procedures.
  • Verify visitors and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence on site.
  • Conduct regular internal and external security patrols where required.
  • Monitor CCTV and other security systems where applicable.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies and alarms.
  • Report and escalate any security, maintenance, health & safety or other concerns.
  • Deal professionally with enquiries from visitors, clients, residents and staff.
  • Liaise with emergency services, contractors and relevant site personnel when required.
  • Complete daily occurrence books, incident reports, handover notes and other required paperwork.
  • Use basic IT systems, email, Microsoft Office and site-based systems for records and communication.
  • Follow all site-specific security, reception, health & safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure all security and reception procedures are followed consistently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Provide professional support to the client and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Work independently and use initiative while following company and site instructions.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in Security, Reception, Front of House or a similar role.
  • Valid SIA Licence, where applicable to the duties of the role.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good IT and computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience dealing with visitors, clients, contractors or members of the public.
  • Professional, smart and presentable appearance.
  • Confident, approachable and able to communicate professionally.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong observation and situational awareness.
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends if required.
  • Full checkable 5-year work/education history.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a residential, corporate, commercial or high-end security environment.
  • Previous reception or front-of-house experience.
  • Experience with CCTV or access-control systems.
  • Experience completing incident reports and daily occurrence books.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Additional security-related qualifications or training.
